Home Health Aide
Home health aides provide in-home support to patients based on their individualized Plan of Care. Their responsibilities include assisting with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility), preparing meals and helping with feeding, performing light housekeeping and laundry, running essential errands, and monitoring vital signs when directed. They may also assist with prescribed exercises such as passive range of motion. HHAs are required to document care accurately, maintain patient confidentiality, follow infection control practices, report any changes in condition promptly, and perform only the tasks authorized by the care plan, using sound judgment and demonstrating competency in all duties.
